Shaklee distributors can spread the word on the Internet using a marketing system called ‘The Freedom Project’. This health and wellness giant has a 50 year heritage. According to the company’s presentation information, the entire network marketing model may have very well begun with this company’s founder, Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee, Sr.

In 1915, Dr. Shaklee is said to have invented one of the very first multi-vitamin formulations. With the assistance of his two sons, they brought the vitamin to the retail market place in the 1950’s. They soon discovered that some education and explaining was needed to justify the higher cost for the better quality. This led to the business model still being used by network marketers everywhere: person to person marketing.

The wellness industry is huge business, as more and more baby boomers seek assistance with wellness, anti-aging and disease prevention. It is estimated to be a trillion dollar per year business within the next few years. Shaklee’s products all have a 100% money back guarantee, and have been reviewed and written about in over 100 scientific papers.

The cost for entry is very affordable–just a minimum of $20 is required to become a member. Monthly cost for the Freedom Project system is $30.

The product line includes:

  • Organic Home Cleaners (Get Clean)
  • Weight Loss supplements, bars, drink mixes (Cinch)
  • Air purification
  • Nutrition, vitamins, herbal formulas, fish oil
  • Natural skin care and make-up
  • Compensation as a distributor is based on the amount of monthly PV (personal volume) and business volume (BV). Exact details of the compensation plan can be found here.

    Pros:
Organic and ‘green’ products are in high demand. Cost of entry is very affordable. Wellness industry continues to see tremendous growth potential. Product line offers money-back guarantee. Weight loss industry continues to be very popular. Company has a 50-year track record.

    Cons:
Complicated compensation structure. Will need to create a downline of thousands to create substantial leveraged income.

Just a comment - what do you consider substantial leveraged income? With 6 direct downlines, each with 6 below them, the income would be close to $5000/month for a very part-time job. It only grows from here - thousands are not necessary unless your looking to make billions!

Thanks for your comment, Sue. You are correct. As for ’substantial income’, I should have said ’substantial full time income’…like six figure type of income.
