Unfortunately, this type of lead is usually a myth. The safest way to ensure you have ‘exclusive leads’ is to generate them yourself as a result of pay per click ads or other forms of personal advertising.

Are you aware that purchased leads are often sold multiple times? By the time you reach the lead, they may very well be fed up with phone calls or emails from dozens of other networkers. This is not only a waste of your money, it is a waste of your time.

Some lead companies claim to sell the leads only once more, and further state that the lead will be sold only to someone representing a different opportunity. Personally, this is the type of company that I prefer to deal with, but the price per lead can be somewhat more, as a result. Be sure to ask the vendor specifically about the reselling issue. If you can’t get a straight answer, it’s probably a good idea to find a different company.

And a sidenote, while we are on the topic of leads. Don’t fall for the very inexpensive (and therefore very appealing) traffic packages that promise ‘100,000’ visitors to your web site today…I fell for it once. Lots of new marketers fall for this pitch. Don’t be taken yourself. If it sounds too good to be true…well, you know the answer to that one!
